Discover the Filming Locations of the New BBC Rebus Series

Ian Rankin's Inspector Rebus is arguably one of Edinburgh's most well-known stories; over time, the story has woven itself intricately into the city's identity and cultural fabric.

The BBC is adapting the best-selling novels by Ian Rankin into a television series that will debut on May 17, 2024. The majority of the filming was done in Edinburgh.

Richard Rankin, who plays John Rebus in Outlander, plays a younger Detective Sergeant in the film Rebus, which has Ian Rankin attached as an executive producer.

In the midst of Edinburgh's breathtaking urban landscape, Rebus gets caught up in a vicious criminal rivalry that turns quite intimate.
